High density cobalt-iminodiacetic acid (IDA) crosslinked agarose resin for low pressure affinity chromatography. The high amount of available cobalt chelate groups allows for high binding capacity. Cobalt chelates recognize two exposed vicinal histidine tags with excellent specificity, but lower affinity as nickel or zinc chelates. The Co-IDA agarose resin is therefore the optimal choice, if highly pure proteins are needed or difficult to separate proteins have to be purified.
