Nickelous carbonate occours as green crystals.
Nickel monocarbonate is not soluble in water but soluble in acids.
Nickel has the ability to adsorb large amounts of hydrogen, therefore, it is used as a catalyst in hydrogenation. Nickel anhydrous is also useful for adjusting the pH of nickel baths.
Nickel carbonate powder can have cancerous effects, although there is still insufficient evidence to prove this; carbonic acid is harmful if inhaled and swallowed; nickelous carbonate may cause sensitisation by skin contact. Request safety data sheet (SDS) and refer to points 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 13, 14, 15. Technical specifications are provided on request according to the application.
