Ideal for extraction of DNA/RNA in combination with ROTI ® Phenol, especially for the purification of nucleic acid containing solutions from residual phenol. Mechanism Addition of 1 volume ROTI ® C/I and thorough mixing. Chloroform dissolves residual phenol from the sample solution and leads to the denaturation of residual proteins which accumulate in the interphase. Isoamyl alcohol prevents foaming and very efficiently inhibits RNAses. Following centrifugation, the purified nucleic acid containing solution may be retrieved as upper phase.
