Sterile DMEM : F12 is a widely used basal medium for a variety of mammalian cells. It is a 1:1 mixture of Ham’s F12 and DMEM. In this way, the richness of Ham’s F12 in vitamins and trace elements has been combined with the high nutrient concentration of DMEM. DMEM : F12 is now the basis of many serum-free media. When working without FBS, growth factors, hormones and lipids, which are essential for cell growth, must also be added to the medium. ROTI ® Cell DMEM : F12 CELLPURE ® ready-to-use, sterile, w/o glutamine, with pyruvate, with HEPES This modification of DMEM : F12 contains pyruvate and 15 mM HEPES, but no L-glutamine.
