The flame arrester, which reaches far into the container (approx. 150 mm long), prevents the ingress of sparks and can be unscrewed for cleaning or replacement. For conductive containers, earthing is realised by the thread (direct contact); an additional earth connection is provided for other containers. The flap lid reduces the emission of volatile, harmful vapours and needs to be closed manually.
