PAS staining kit for microscopy Periodic Acid Schiff staining is generally used for detecting carbohydrates in tissue. Directions for use Staining is carried out in 3 steps: Periodic acid transforms 1.2 glycol groups to aldehyde groups, which are stained with Schiff’s reagent. Hemalum solution performs counter staining of nuclei. Result: Carbohydrates red, nuclei blue-violet. The kit contains Periodic acid solution 1 % (Art. No. HP00), Schiff’s reagent (Art.
