Haematoxylin solutions according to Weigert are used for cell nucleus staining in histology and cytology. Furthermore, these solutions are used in Masson-Goldner trichrome staining and trichrome staining according to van Gieson. Working concentration Mix WEIGERT’S solution A and WEIGERT’S solution B at a ratio of 1:1 prior to use (iron hematoxylin solution).
