Commonly employed in multi-step synthesis and reaction processes, the Roti ® Gelstain, available in a 5 mL package containing five 1 mL aliquots, serves as an alternative to ethidium bromide for fluorescent staining of nucleic acids in agarose and polyacrylamide gels. This green-colored dye exhibits high sensitivity, detecting as little as 0.2 ng/band, and can be excited by both ultraviolet (302 nm) and blue (490 nm) light, emitting maximum emissions at 520 nm when bound to DNA. Store this dye at +4°C for optimal preservation.
