Functionalized with trioctylphosphine oxide, these hydrophobic quantum dots are soluble in various organic solvents such as hexane, cyclohexane, toluene, chloroform, THF, and pyridine. Their emission peak width (FWHM) typically measures less than 30 nm, while their quantum yield can reach up to 80% depending on the excitation wavelength.
